Charlotte Robathan
Charlotte Robathan is a freelance literary consultant and editor. Prior to that, she worked in editorial at John Murray (Hachette) for over six years. In non-fiction, she project edited books by high-profile celebrity authors such as Miriam Margolyes, Billy Connolly, David Attenborough, Nigel Planer, Susie Dent, Colin Greenwood (Radiohead) and Philomena Cunk. She also worked across a wide variety of fiction, including titles from bestselling and award-winning authors such as Lucy Steeds, Ruth Hogan, Sally Magnusson, Liv Little, Cailean Steed and Michelle Gallen. As a commissioner, her interests spanned from the speculative and genre-bending, on the fringes of gothic and fantasy, to the more commercially-leaning and voice-driven. She was previously a mentor through theGrow Your Story scheme – a partnership between Hachette’s Pride network, The Future Bookshelf and David Higham Associates, aimed at supporting emerging queer voices – and was a reader for A. M. Heath’s inaugural Hilary Mantel Prize for Fiction.
