Elizabeth Fremantle
Elizabeth Fremantle is an award winning historical novelist, screenwriter, and Creative Writing teacher and mentor. Best known for her richly researched novels exploring the lives of early-modern women, her works include, Queen’s Gambit (adapted for the screen as Firebrand, starring Alicia Vikander and Jude Law), Sisters of Treason, The Poison Bed, The Honey and the Sting, Disobedient (winner of the 2023 HWA Gold Crown), and the forthcoming Sinners (2025).
Fremantle began her career as a journalist writing for publications such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, and The Sunday Times. A graduate of Birkbeck, University of London, with a First in English and an MA in Creative Writing, she now teaches and mentors emerging writers alongside her fiction and screenwriting work.
She lives in London.
